Psalm 136 DIY Shirt Review from Zoe Clothing Co.
Hello,
There have been many ministries and Christian companies working on resources for families to help keep busy during quarantine. One of our favorite finds is from Zoe Clothing Company. They have been adding printable devotionals and coloring pages to their website. We tried one of their designs based on Psalm 136 available as a DIY craft shirt and bag.
I must say, I really love their designs and the quality of their clothing is just superb. Also, with every item purchased they donate 4 meals to the Children’s Hunger fund! I really love supporting small businesses that have a love for the least of these and a heart for serving others.
MATERIALS:
- Psalm 136 craft shirt or bag & Devotional
- Scissors
- Cardboard (to insert in the shirt/bag)
- Fabric Markers – we used Tulip Fabric Markers
- Cut out cardboard pieces to insert and stretch shirts on. This helps to keep any ink from the fabric markers from bleeding through and gives you a nice flat surface.
- Read the devotional while the kids color away!
We ended up purchasing two shirts and a tote bag to personalize, which included a digital copy of the design and the devotional. I printed a copy to help the kids choose the final color combinations before starting on their shirts. Moreover, as we have been having gorgeous spring weather, we decided to set up outside to work on our craft and devotional. We enjoyed our time together soaking up the sun and fresh air… the bugs not so much.
Psalm 136: His love endures forever.
Undoubtedly, the devotional was much needed. It was an excellent means for explaining God’s steadfast love. It was also a chance for our kids to share how they are feeling about this time of uncertainty, which had not even crossed my mind to ask them. COVID-19 has affected everyone world wide and taking some time to thank God for his love was refreshing for the soul. He is the creator of all and we are not alone!
Our kids had a blast coloring their own shirts and were so excited to wear their creations. Even though we only used fabric markers, these shirts would also be fun to tie dye or use fabric puffy paint on as well.
It’s such simple craft that would work for all ages, the fabric quality is excellent, and the devotional is a huge blessing. Overall, this is a must do! It will be an excellent activity if you are staying home and need to keep little hands busy.
We would love to hear from you! Share with us how you are staying busy or resources you have found in the comments.
